Stress Management is an essential component of well-being. City life is hectic, demanding, and challenging to our needs for personal comfort and space. City life can be overly stimulating, frustrating, and challenging to our ability to maintain our inner calm. Poor stress management can lead to a host of debilitating consequences including arguments with loved ones and strangers, low frustration tolerance, irritability, insomnia, poor eating habits, and serious health conditions. For some, a chronic lack of stress management skills can eventually lead to acts of physical violence, excessive use of substances (including cigarettes, alcohol, and illicit drugs), and even catastrophe. Thankfully, there are skills and techniques, that when learned and implemented, will increase your ability to handle the stressors of city life, increase your overall wellbeing, serve as an alternative to unhealthy habits, and maybe even save your life.
