Anger Management

Anger is one of the most common and destructive delusions, and it afflicts our mind almost every day. To solve the problem of anger we first need to recognize the anger within our mind, acknowledge how it harms both ourself and others, and appreciate the benefits of being patient in the face of difficulties. We then need to apply practical methods in our daily life to reduce our anger and finally to prevent it from arising at all. What is anger?Anger is a deluded mind that focuses on an animate or inanimate object, feels it to be unattractive, exaggerates its bad qualities, and wishes to harm it.

Counseling Can Help You!

What You Think Changes Who You Are. You may find yourself trapped in negative thought patterns, saying things to yourself like: 'I'll never get that job,' 'They don't like me,' 'I am ugly,' or 'I'm so stupid!' You become these self-statements, despite the fact that you aren't any of these statements all the time, if ever. That's not to say that you don't mess up. But, and this is important, you are not your thoughts or your mistakes. An article in Scientific American illustrates this concept:

Sleeplessness No More!

If you suffer from sleepless nights, you can benefit from counseling. In November 2007, the NY Times printed an article saying just that. I have already helped many of my clients improve their sleep patterns. This has resulted in decreased dependence upon caffeine for wakefulness, decreased irritability and short temper, higher frustration tolerance, improved mood, improved relationships with a  partner, improved sex life, and improved work performance.

The NY Times article:

You may benefit from Professional Counseling

There are some indicators that you would benefit from counseling or therapy. Some issues are more serious than others. You will have to decide for yourself.

If any of the following sounds familiar, visit my website: http://effectivetherapynyc.net/, email me: info@effectivetherapynyc.net or call me 917-691-4574.

Ask yourself some important questions:Do you find yourself feeling negative and irritable all the time?
> You can learn how to maintain a positive mind, so you can handle the little and big things equally.

Military or Gov't Jobs can be a risk to your confidentiality

*please read this important article (click on this link or read below) concerning your confidentiality and further evidence of why I do not accept insurance.*

The following is sample from the NPR article above:

To get security clearance for jobs in the military or the government, applicants must say whether they've undergone counseling in recent years. Some experts say this question — known as Question 21 — is discouraging people from applying for jobs or from getting help.

I can show you how to tame your anger, anxiety, depression, painful memories, uncontrolled mood, and sleeping problems. You can regain control of your life.

Loneliness is painful.

Loneliness is painful, but it is just a temporary condition of the mind. Your thoughts are the conditions of your mind, and thankfully, you can change your thoughts. Reading this, your thoughts have changed for this moment. Thinking about how you sense and feel your body in your chair has changed your thoughts for the moment. When you change your thoughts, you change your mind. This happens moment-by-moment. Moment-by-moment our thoughts are changing, and therefore our mind is changing moment-by-moment, as well.

Your sleeping problem is solvable.

Sleeping Problems are solvable. I can help you. Sleeping problems can be due to other problems or originate from a difficult event. Sleeping problems can also be catalysts for other, more serious problems. It is crucial that you do not wait too long before you get help from a professional. Our body and mind needs regular night time sleep in order to do normal repair, maintenance and to de-stress. Often times, sleep problems begin with one bad night. Unfortunately, we can quickly lose control over our sleep schedules and develop some pretty bad habits.
